王室之舟是收置泰国国王使用的小船和王室成员使用的船只的地方。国王之舟约有50米长，由50个左右的舵手操作，船由木材制成，以金箔雕画装饰，极为华丽。

在10月底或11月初满月之日，游客就可看到装饰得五彩缤纷的王室之舟静静地行驶于河中。

泰国王室每年都建造一艘游艇，载王室一家畅游湄南河。游艇雕刻得非常精致，船首像一只金色天鹅的颈项，嘴里含着垂饰；而船尾则像一条大蛇，浮在水面。
